58 Degrees North

A mismatch crew that makes up the Arctic Rose, a 100 foot long fishing vessel starting in St. Paul, Alaska is searching for crab. This underachieving boat sinks killing the entire crew with its last location being 58 degrees north. This novel explains the crash and the two year long investigation by the coast guard, and to what really happened to the ship. Lots of reasons why this boat needed help, but never earned enough to be a top end boat, there just was never enough time for this crew to find its sea fortunes.

Recommendation:
This was a very well written book, but a sad mystery. I have been out commercial fishing myself in that area and it is very dangerous and scary. I felt bad for the families, but it was nice to see them get closure at the end. Good book.
